มีข่าวว่า ยักษใหญ่ AOL/MapQuest ก็สนใจ OpenStreetMap เพื่อใช้เป็นกรอบในการพัฒนาข้อมูลถนนใน USA
ในข่าวดังกล่างมีการนำพูดออกมาว่า
